HALF SHAVED YAK was for a very long time my favorite band to play with and listen to. A psychotic combo of a lot of great music, like the Melvins and Candiria had a grindcore baby that listened to the Ventures.
these guys kinda came up with my band David Carradine at one point and then stopped playing shows for whatever reason. If you ever got the privilege at seeing them play a house show in Pawcatuck you would be just as sad as we are that they don't play anymore.
I co-released this album with Spare Change Records. A further example of how much of a part the Yak was to the lives of us Pawcatuck folk, the art on the front cover was done by locals Josh Marsie (me), Kyle Demarco, and Kristy Cullers..... it was the beginning of us working together on art. So the Yak played a big part in the formation and progress of our scene and vanished... lame!
